How to link Aadhaar with your UAN (EPFO)?

The Employeer's Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made Aadhaar seeding mandator for all EPF Account holders vide the Gazette Notification No.1730(E) dated. 30.04.2021. If the Aadhaar is not linked to your UAN number or your EPF account, your employer will not be able to deposit your PF amount since they would not be able to file Electronic Challan Cum Return (ECR) for EPF Accounts that are not linked with Aadhaar. The EPFO stated in a statement to employers that "Dear Employer, with the coming into force of the Section 142 of the Code on Social Security, 2020, the ECR shall be allowed to be filed only for those members, whose Aadhaar numbers are seeded and verified with the UANs, w.e.f 01.06.2021. Cabinet approves the proposal to extend the EPF contribution 24% (12% employees share and 12% employers share) for another three months from June to August 2020

Posted On: 08 JUL 2020 4:31PM The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today has given its approval for extending the contribution both 12% employees' share and 12% employers' share under Employees Provident Fund, totaling 24% for another 3 months from June to August, 2020, as part of the package announced by the Government under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY)/ Aatmanirbhar Bharat in the light of COVID-19, a Pandemic.  This approval is in addition to the existing scheme for the wage months of March to May, 2020 approved on 15.04.2020.  The total estimated expenditure is of Rs.4,860 crore.  Over 72 lakh employees in 3.67 lakh establishments will be benefitted.
