Revised Timing for GDP Press Releases: What You Need to Know
The National Statistical Office (NSO), part of the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), has announced a change in the release time for its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates press releases. Starting November 29, 2024, the press releases will be published at 4:00 PM instead of the earlier time of 5:30 PM. Let’s dive into the details.

The NSO is responsible for releasing GDP estimates, which measure the health of India’s economy. These include both annual and quarterly GDP estimates, and they are published as per a fixed schedule known as the Advance Release Calendar.
Previously, the GDP figures were made public at 5:30 PM on release days. The new timing of 4:00 PM is designed to give users, including media outlets and the general public, more time to analyze the data during the same business day.
